Billy Kats

Billy Kats is in talks with co-creator/executive producer Johnny Arreola from VISION Studios to produce a new series called "Campfire Stories." The show will tell interesting stories about life and the outdoors based around a campfire setting in a documentary style production.

Arreola is in initial conversations with Amazon Prime to pick up the series, as last Nov (19), the streaming giant distributed Kats' last production, A Season To Remember documentary film.

​

The phrase “labor of love” often is used incorrectly to describe a personal project that doesn’t turn a profit. I don’t think that a true labor of love has anything to do with profit or loss. It is something that is done solely because of what is in the person’s heart that causes them to undertake a project.

"The air was heavy,  saturated from coastal humidity and steady rainfall lasting for days. Spawning pink salmon amassing into the millions filled tributaries from one bank to the other, the smell of rotting salmon carcasses lingering amidst the aroma of lodgepole pine and yellow cedar. British Columbia is a beautiful place, but its beauty is defined by steep climbs and uneven terrain. Traversing in this landscape is a test of endurance, both physically and mentally, yet Billy was there on the ground hunting black bear with a cameraman to capture the scenes unfold. In honor of his late father, George Katsigiannis, this was Billy's season, A Season to Remember."

“A Season to Remember is about a father and son passing on a tradition. It follows Kats from Canada, hunting and fishing for walleye, black bear and muskies, to hunting white-tailed deer in Illinois. It visually integrates decades-old film of trips with his father, George, to Canada and strong scenes shot in British Columbia of jellyfish and black bears fishing. It is the story of a father and son and a lesson well learned.”
